The officers and members of Western Rock Art Research have been responsible for getting the organization off the ground and performing all the day-to-day functions that have led to its success so far. This includes maintaining connections with land managers, fellow researchers and concerned tribal and public groups, as well as applying for grants and performing the actual documentation of the rock art, with a certain amount of help in the field from interested volunteers. The Officers are also charged with helping land managers develop strategies for conserving public and private rock art sites, and with reaching out to the public through an annual series of lectures and classes.
